Karen's Story: I'm not sure who is reading this, but I need help. My boyfriend (who is legally separated from his wife) was recently arrested for molesting his stepdaughter. His stepdaughter just turned 18. She claims this was going on from 1997 to 2005. These claims all came about while the divorce paperwork and custody battles were being finalized. I know (and his friends and family know) that these are false allegations.

I have some proof that the daughter is lying. Additionally, people that have been in his life forever (especially people that know his stepdaughter well) confirm that she is a trouble maker, does drugs, and is mad at her stepdad for not buying her a car that he promised. These all may lead to her motive for the false allegations of sexual abuse.

I'm lost and devastated. I don't know what to do. I can't afford an attorney. Does anyone out there know of anything I can do to fight back? I've been doing so much research. There are many people being wrongly accused, having to do time in prison just based on the 'He said, she said' statements. That's what this is. There is no evidence. Can anyone give me advice?

My boyfriend is currently in a California detention center. What do I do? He's being charged with penal codes 288.5- 4 counts and Penal code 288a(b)(1)- 3 counts. There were 24 charges to the last count, but they were dropped.

I have another question. There are pending charges against my boyfriend. The courthouse says all paperwork pertaining to the charges are still pending. The jailhouse says that the charges aren't pending. I'm confused. What does this mean? He has now been in jail for about a week.
